Dr. Jane Peterson was born and raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba. She was first introduced to chiropractic after suffering from a low back injury while playing NCAA Division 1 volleyball in Mississippi. The team’s chiropractor was able to effectively treat Dr. Jane’s low back pain, allowing her to play pain free. This experience led to her interest in becoming a chiropractor with the goal of helping others. After graduating with a Bachelor’s of Science degree, Dr. Jane continued her studies at Southern California University of Health Sciences where she attained her Doctor of Chiropractic Degree with honours. Since graduating she has been providing chiropractic care at a family wellness practice in Winnipeg treating a wide range of patients including people of all ages from newborns to adolescents to adults, as well as athletes and pregnant women.
Dr. Jane is constantly striving to enhance her skills to provide optimum patient care by attending seminars and learning new techniques. Dr. Jane is certified in Graston Technique®, an instrument assisted manual therapy technique to help decrease scar tissue and muscle adhesions; and RockTape, a functional movement kinesio-taping certification that is beneficial for reducing pain and inflammation as well as aiding in posture correction. She is also certified in Webster technique, and enjoys providing chiropractic care to women throughout their pregnancies.
In her spare time Dr. Jane plays volleyball, enjoys hiking, going to spin classes, trying out new workout classes and spending time with family and friends. Dr. Jane is excited to relocate to Vancouver and join the Be Chiropractic Wellness team.
